I never seem to remember quite how hectic the end of the school year gets. My students will attest to my extreme organization so it's not that I am not prepared, but rather, there's just so much to do that it wears me out! On top of that, I am leaving for Europe tomorrow and won't be home for 17 days!!!
I am so looking forward all that Greece has to offer. I am envisioning myself sitting somewhere peaceful putting together next year's mythology unit with all of my newly acquired knowledge. I don't know what the next few weeks will hold, but I welcome the new experiences and challenges that will help me grow as a teacher!!
Tomorrow afternoon I fly (with Michael) to Greece! Here are the travel details:
June 7 : fly from Houston to Amsterdam (layover)
June 8 : arrive in Amsterdam; fly to Rome
June 9 - 10 : tour Rome, including the Vatican which contains hundreds of pieces of mythology art from paintings to sculptures
June 11 - fly to Athens; tour Athens in the afternoon & meet up with Ms. Harris
June 12 - 16 : tour Athens, Corinth, Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia, and Delphi
June 17 - 22: tour islands of Crete, Santorini, and Naxos
June 23 : fly to Amsterdam (layover) and then back to Houston
Seems like a lot of good stuff packed into a few weeks. I hope we can do it all!!
